Shelby Scott has more than twenty years of experience in the field of education. She is a former public-school teacher, curriculum writer, professional development speaker and school board member responsible for leading the accreditation process of Calvary Classical School. In 2019, Shelby was one of the founders of the first hybrid school on the Peninsula, Covenant Classical Community School in Hampton, Virginia.
As a parent of two premature children, Shelby has gained great knowledge of the developmental and learning challenges of many students. Through her work on the NICU Family Advisory Council at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters and experience with Early Intervention, she has become an advocate for parents and students in communicating their educational needs and goals.
Shelby has a Master’s Degree in Education which, combined with classroom experience and a heart for understanding and meeting learning preferences, makes her knowledgeable and empathetic to families’ educational desires. Shelby is a licensed teacher in Virginia, allowing her to offer personal homeschool teaching or certified tutoring needs.
In her free time, Shelby enjoys Bible Study Fellowship, gardening and cooking. She and her husband live in Poquoson with their two children.
